Dr. André Perreault studied medicine at Université de Montréal. He then specialized in orthopaedic surgery at McGill University, under the guidance of Drs. Carroll Laurin ((foot and ankle surgery) and William Rennie (hand and wrist surgery). He then wrapped up with a second specialty in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery at Université de Montréal.
During his first years of practice, he devoted himself to foot and hand surgery. He soon specialized more with foot and ankle pathologies. He is a participant in the AOFAS (American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society) activities, where he is an international member since 1996.
He is a founding member of the first governing board of COFAS (Canadian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society) in 2002.
He has dedicated most of his practice to the treatment of Hallux Valgus, with more than 2500 such surgeries.
In 2003, after more than 10 years’ practice in a hospital setting, he became a non-participating physician in the Régime d'assurance-maladie du Québec (RAMQ or “Medicare”) and he is presently performing foot surgery at the Montreal Foot Surgery Clinic.
Some surgeries of the ankle are also performed (ex.: Ligament reconstruction for instability after ankle sprain). Also some hand surgeries are also done( ex.: carpal tunnel release, Dupuytrens contracture, trigger finger)
